Note
Inscription on the back of the photograph says , "Sam W . Gibbs , Fairview , home made broiler house. " The image appears in the Farmers Federation News , September 1948 issue , page 9 . The caption is titled , "Rock Chicken House " and says , "Ray Deitz , of the Marketing Department , is shown above as he inspects a broiler raised by Sam W . Gibbs of Fairview . Mr . Gibbs constructed his broiler houses from rocks picked up on his property at a cost of approximately $25.00 per house , which means more profit from the broilers. "
