Vardy Valley was greatly changed when the tornado came in 1933 (March). Many of the houses were very much like the Penn. Dutch style. Harrison Collins' house was badly damaged which was replaced by a much smaller house. Grant Collins' house was replaced by a smaller house. Andy Gibson was damaged but not enough for replacement. The Gibson house finally burned down. Clay Miser's house was a beautiful house which had beautiful carving and big upper level porch and ground floor front porch.
