From: Miller, A Study of Folklore in Watauga County, North Carolina ( 1938)
Sung by Mrs. Nancy Prather, August 16 1937, Sugar Grove North Carolina.
The Little White Robe
You shall wear the little white robe,
The robes are read- ee now.
Fathers, don't cease praying
For the works are moving
You shall wear the starry crown.
The crowns are read- ee now.
Mothers, don't cease praying
For the works are moving on.
You shall wear the little white robe.
The robes are read- ee now.
You shall wear the starry crown
The crowns are read- ee now.
Brothers, don't cease praying
For the works are moving on.
Sisters, don't cease praying
For the works are moving on.
