Description	The coat was manufactured for women's ware. It is a black wool dress coat that is full length and features buttons for closure. It has full length sleeves and cuffs. Both the collar and cuffs are decorated with black piping. The sleeves are puffed and there are two slits on each side of the coat. The coat is in stable condition and all buttons are intact, however, several small holes are on the body of the coat.

Note	The coat was bought before 1909 and belonged to woman named Carol, who lived near Sandsprings, KY, south of Mt. Vernon Kentucky. A note found in the coat's pocket says that Mrs. Carol wore this coat to visit Roxie Bullock Doan, her daughter when she was pregnant with her first child in 1909. The daughter, Roxie Bullock Doan had possession of the coat. After Doan's death in 1969, the granddaughter of Carol, Rosa Mary Jane Doan McCow, became the coat's custodian.
