| Title | Educational conditions in Tennessee / [unknown]. In Mountain herald / Lincoln Memorial University. |
| Description | In describing the results of the sixth annual session of the Tennessee College Association, the author noted Dr. George F. Zook and his findings on eastern Tennessee's educational status. Dr. Zook was chief of the higher education division of the bureau of education in Washington. At the meeting in Jefferson City, he was asked to reveal his survey results. Zook's emphasis is on the leadership role in educating young people, noting that "either progress will not occur at the rate which the resources warrant, or the genius that will promote the expansion will come from the citizenry of other states." He cites numerous problems such as inadequate transportation and fewer women in higher education as other factors in the educational condition. |
