MUSIC MAJOR PROGRAM
Brevard offers a full program centering around a thorough treatment of the various aspects of music theory: harmony, sight-singing, dictation, and keyboard application. This course of study coincides with background courses offered in all schools and conservatories during the first two years of concentrated work.
Courses in music literature are offered for music majors and in music appreciation for the liberal arts student. Modern recording, listening and sound reproduction facilities are housed in the Dunham Fine Arts Center.
STUDENT AID
Approximately one-third of the student body at Brevard College is receiving financial aid, and the College stands ready to help all qualifying students who are in need of assistance.
Talent Awards are granted to students displaying outstanding ability in music upon the recommendation of the faculty of the Department of Music.
Work grants are also available to students who are admitted to the College in regular standing. Evidence of need is required in most instances, but certain scholarships may be offered primarily for assistance rendered to the Department of Music. First chair players, accompanists, and office assistants are examples.
