This collection consists primarily of three types of materials: Audio of traditional Appalachian music, Civil War Amnesty Letters, and appalachian artifacts.

This collection contains digitized materials from Bethany College's Archives and Special Collections.

History of Brevard College and its forerunners Weaver College (1873-1933) and Rutherford College (1853-1933), located on the site of the former Brevard Institute.

Carson-Newman University's digital library contains items from its Appalachian and Rare Book Collection, Middle and East Tennessee Baptist Archives, and the University Archives. The collection consists primarily of photographs, manuscripts, documents and serials.

The collection consists primarily of documents and photographs related to the history of the Holston Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and its forerunners, as well as documents and photos related to the history of Emory & Henry College (a Methodist affiliated institution) and the surrounding counties.
